The Cruces University Hospital is located in the neighbourhood of Cruces in the city of Baracaldo. It’s the biggest and busiest health centre in the Basque Country. It is one of the Basque Health Service’s (Osakidetza) hospitals which provides a service to the city of Baracaldo itself, to the left and right banks of the Nervión River including the city of Bilbao and to the provinces/areas of Uribe, Zona Minera and Encartaciones. It is also a regional benchmark hospital in Paediatric Cardiac Surgery, Kidney Transplantation, Liver Transplantation and Major Burns.
The hospital has had many extensions since it was founded in 1955, the largest of which being in the 70s. However, the hospital has never ceased to be renovated over all these years. In the top images we can see the new emergency areas which have been completed with M92 partition, with aluminium-framed doors and carpentry work in order to supply made-to-measure furniture.
