Musikene, the San Sebastián University of Music, is located in the Europa Square, opposite the UPV campus and the Carlos Santamaría library.
The 341 students at Musikene (7% of which are foreign students, the majority of them French) and their teachers enjoy modern facilities which make up a total of 13,096 squared metres over five floors. The basement is a car park with 52 spaces, whilst the other four are home to the teaching areas, with 68 classrooms which include a recording studio and an electro-acoustic laboratory, as well as 31 study booths.
Adding to all of this, there’s the area reserved for teachers, administration, management and the Mediateka.
Dynamobel has collaborated actively in this project, adapting itself to the client’s needs, which have included, amongst other things, the adaptation of interior signage of the building for the blind, specific material for the classrooms, the Mediateka and the furniture, both for the administration areas and for the management of the centre.
Amongst the made-to-measure products which were developed, the metal filing systems stand out as they hold more than 50,000 documents available in the Mediateka: books, musical scores, electronic documents, CDs, DVDs… Its operational model is similar to that of a library.
Some special tables were also designed which incorporate lighting and access to electrification, which enables users to charge laptops, mobiles and music players, amongst other electronic devices.
The majority of the classrooms have been equipped with whiteboards and metal coat racks exclusively designed by Musikene.
